First California thinks about banning all black cars. Now the United States Secretary of Energy wants us all to paint our roofs white.
One can deduct two simple facts from these stories:
- Things that are black run inefficiently.
- Especially when on top of buildings.
What color are solar panels? Black. And where are they typically located? On top of buildings.
Therefore, you should all spray paint your solar panels white. Do not use regular paint for this – that would not emit enough aerosol into the atmosphere.
By the way, if black cars are inefficient, aren’t black Priuses somewhat of a paradox now?

Should we not spray paint solar panels black instead? Painting any on your roof white would give the impression that you WANT to help the climate, I don’t know about you, but the last thing I want is some Al Gore wanna be talking to me about how efficient I am being.

Joshman,
You have an excellent point. However, if you spray paint them black, no one would know that you spray painted them because solar panels are black themselves. Then everyone would think that you have functional solar panels on your roof. We have quite the conundrum here.

Could just throw our solar panels away… hop in our hummers, and grab a beer? Come to think about, we could throw our solar panels in a body of water … a double whammie!
But then where would your post be?… This is turning out to be quite the conundrum.

Also, if the solar panels are white, they will absorb less energy from the sun thus resulting in an increased dependence on fossil fueled energy to run your home.

How many coats of paint should I do? I was thinking I could do a coat a day at the very least.

Can I use lead paint?

As long as you somehow get some. I was under the impression that China-based toy manufacturers are the only people allowed to buy lead paint.

According to top-gear, priuses are less fuel efficient than a normal small engined car. We should really be kicking motor-scooters instead- they are environmentally friendly(er) and they are really gay anyway.
